Our Story

Rooted in Wine

Lovell Estate & Winery is stewarded by Rod and Jill Slane, whose approach to wine and hospitality is rooted in care, balance, and a deep respect for place. Their vision centers on creating wines that are approachable yet refined, and experiences that feel welcoming rather than formal.

Lovell wines are curated from premium California grapes and finished in Eureka Springs, allowing each vintage to reflect both quality sourcing and thoughtful craftsmanship. This work builds upon the Slanes’ long-standing involvement in winemaking through Keels Creek Winery, where they have spent years refining their process and philosophy.

The transition from Keels Creek Winery to Lovell Estate & Winery represents an evolution rather than a departure. Select wines continue to be produced and finished locally, with the addition of estate-focused offerings that reflect the character of the Lovell property. Alongside this, the Slanes are developing a local vineyard presence, further anchoring the winery in the Northwest Arkansas region and strengthening the connection between land, place, and bottle.

Every wine produced under the Lovell name is crafted to be shared. Whether enjoyed during a tasting, paired with a meal, or opened during a quiet evening, the focus remains the same: balance, drinkability, and moments worth remembering.

The Estate

Historic Roots

The heart of Lovell Estate is its historic home, a striking Queen Anne–style residence originally built in the late 19th century. Known for its turret, wraparound porch, and ornate architectural details, the home has long stood as a symbol of craftsmanship and character.

In a remarkable chapter of its story, the house was meticulously relocated from Carthage, Missouri to Eureka Springs in the 1980s. Rather than moving it whole, the structure was carefully dismantled piece by piece, transported, and reassembled with precision. This extraordinary effort preserved the integrity of the home while allowing it to begin a new life in one of Arkansas’ most historic towns.

Today, the residence has been thoughtfully restored to honor its original design while adapting it for modern hospitality. Original details were preserved wherever possible, allowing the home’s craftsmanship to remain visible and authentic. The result is a space that feels lived in, storied, and warm, rather than static or preserved behind glass.

Lovell Estate & Winery exists because this house was saved with intention. Its history is not frozen in time, but carried forward through gatherings, celebrations, and the quiet moments guests experience within its walls.
